Hi, I’m Dr. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez,
Nationally recognized as a transformative education leader and strategist, I’ve dedicated nearly three decades to driving change across schools, communities, and organizations. As the Superintendent and CEO of Hartford Public Schools, I led a $670 million district serving 17,000 students—navigating political complexity while advancing academic achievement, graduation rates, and inclusive culture. My work in crafting strategic visions, building resilient leadership, and cultivating powerful partnerships has earned honors like the Latino Superintendent of the Year and the National Brillante Award for Educational Excellence.
Now, through my consulting firm, I support leaders in education and the nonprofit sector with executive coaching, leadership development, and systems-level strategy. As a proud Puerto Rican and multilingual learner, my personal journey shapes my unwavering commitment to equity and access. Outside of my work, I find joy in running, scuba diving, dancing, reading, and exploring Hartford with my dog, Zen.
My Approach
I approach my work with a deep commitment to equity, strategic clarity, and human connection. I believe that transformational leadership begins with empowering people—whether it's mentoring emerging leaders, guiding organizations through change, or building trust with communities. My goal is always to create inclusive, resilient systems that unlock potential and drive lasting impact.
Lead it. Live it. Lift others as you rise.
I’ve navigated and transformed systems not built for people like me. I don’t just coach—I walk alongside leaders through complexity and change, grounded in lived experience, cultural pride, and the belief that real leadership transforms lives.
Shape it.
Be bold, be grounded, and trust your journey. Your story is still unfolding—and that’s the power in it. This moment doesn’t need to be perfect, just real. Build what feels right now. The rest will grow with you.
